The Lyman Learning Center, a non-profit day care in Presho, and the Kennebec Korral, a day care in Kennebec, will hold a fund raiser in Kennebec Saturday night, January 28th.

The night begins at 5 p.m. with a bake sale and concession stand featuring walking tacos at the Kennebec lunch room.
A basketball game pitting moms, dads, and other community volunteers from the Lyman Learning Center against the Kennebec Korral tips off at 7 p.m.

BINGO will be played in the lunchroom from 8:30 - 9:30 p.m.
For those of you of the wagering kind, a Calcutta will take place prior to the basketball game. Persons will be bidding on the number of free throws made in five minutes.

The children are very excited to be part of the entertainment, so they will have their own game at half time, said Lorri Wagner, parent and board member from the Lyman Learning Center. Children need not attend either day care to participate in the game, just come on out to the floor when called. The Lyman Learning Center children will also be cheering on their team throughout the game, and will be very official looking in cheerleading attire made by Jean Moore. Other children who wish to cheer the players on are also welcome.

The funds raised throughout the night will be divided between the two day cares. We will probably use the money to paint the day care and buy an educational area rug, which will help the children learn the ABCs and cut down on the noise level, stated Lorri Wagner of the Lyman Learning Center. According the Jason Thiry, parent of children at the Kennebec Korral, their proceeds will be used for more general things such as heating and electricity. The Kennebec Korral day care is owned and operated by Michelle Schindler of Reliance.

Thrivent Financial will provide supplemental funds to the non-profit Lyman Learning Center.
